What we collect

• Waitlist: your email address and, optionally, your state.
• Pre-orders: payment is handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email and payment status, but never your full card number.
• In the app (after launch): documents you upload (such as an IEP), the text extracted from them, and the summaries we generate.
• Analytics: pages viewed and button clicks, using Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookieless) and, if enabled, the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics. These use cookies; see "Your choices".

How we use it

To run the waitlist, take pre-orders, provide the service, and measure whether our ads work. We never sell your data. We never use uploaded documents to train AI models. Uploaded text is sent to our AI processing provider only to generate your summary. We use providers whose API terms say customer data is not used for training, and we have zero-retention arrangements where they're available.

Children's information

The service is for parents and guardians aged 18 or over. An IEP contains information about a child. You upload it as the child's parent or guardian, and we treat it as highly sensitive. We don't knowingly collect information directly from children under 13.

Security and retention

Uploaded files are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and in transit (TLS). You can delete your documents, or your whole account, at any time with "Delete my data". Deletion is immediate in our app database, and backups roll off within 30 days.

Your choices

Unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom. Ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be deleted, at support@plainiep.com. You can block tracking cookies in your browser settings.
